Olivia Newton-John is enjoying great success with her show at the Flamingo in Las Vegas, and now she has made another kind of splash in the Entertainment Capital of the World. She unveiled her wax figure likeness, who is dressed in the iconic black spandex-style outfit that's similar to the one that Olivia wore as Sandy in the finale number of "Grease."
The Olivia Newton-John wax figure was created for Madame Tussauds, and its creation cost $300,000.
The wax figure presentation was done at the Flamingo, where Olivia is regularly giving concerts to fans who travel from all over the world to see her sing live. The beloved songstress fully embraces the joy that her performance in the movie has given others, remarking at the unveiling of her likeness that she gets a really good feeling from thinking of the pleasure that fans get from watching the flick.
Olivia sang and danced her way into movie musical history with her performance of "You're The One That I Want" opposite John Travolta in "Grease," and this wax figure pays homage to the gorgeous, sexy image that Olivia brought to the screen.
Speaking of the experience with a photo of herself with the wax figure, Olivia posted on Instagram, "Before and after!!! Very different experience!!" The star also posted to Facebook, "Such an honor to have my own Madame Tussaud 'Sandy' figure!"
The wax figure of Olivia Newton-John as Sandy will be at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas until Thursday, August 14, 2014, when it moves to Madame Tussauds Hollywood. Madame Tussauds is a famous wax museum and popular tourist attraction.
