Olivia Gale, manager of The Zebra Room and Orlando dance/theatre professional

The Zebra Room, located at 2609 Gowen Street in Orlando, was the brainchild of Trish Sie, an Emmy-award winning choreographer as well as an accomplished ballroom dancer, actress, and cellist (she earned a BA in music theory and composition from the University of Pennsylvania). When Trish and her husband Roe decided to move to LA in 2006, it was an easy and obvious decision to invite Olivia Gale to manage the dance studio in their absence.

Trish and Olivia have been friends and dance-business partners since before The Zebra Room was ever an idea. In Trish’s words, “I was concerned that it would be hard to find someone to manage the Zebra Room... to love the studio the way it deserved to be loved, to create an environment where not just great dancing but great friendships and wonderful memories could be created. The Zebra Room was my baby, and I couldn't leave it in the hands of just anyone. I was so delighted that Olivia was up for the challenge because she's the perfect person for the job. I trust her implicitly and I know her heart's in the right place.”

Olivia Gale is one of those people who inspires everyone who knows her with her multitude of talents. Olivia earned her BA from Florida State University where she studied both theatre and dance. She became a member of Dance Masters of America in 1983 and for years ran her own dance studio and performing arts studio, The Dance Workshop, located in the panhandle of Florida. She moved to Orlando and opened On Stage Studios and Raven’s Wings Entertainment Company in 1995. In addition to being an accomplished choreographer and dancer, Olivia is also an artist and a published writer and poet. Her professional resume is enough to make the most studious person dizzy with the number of professional performances that she has been a part of. From television and commercials, to conventions and theatre, Olivia has left a trail of artistic creativity and professionalism that has earned her a large number of testimonials and recommendations from those who have worked with her. She has been published (sometimes as the cover story) in magazines such as Focus in Entertainment News, Dancer, OrlandoArts, Dance Spirit, and Dance Teacher Magazine. Whether it has been set-designing, wedding and stage choreography, professional performance, or dance instruction, Olivia has always been a beacon of class and inspiration to all who have worked with her.

Olivia Gale is a great energy to stand next to, with the majority of her energy directed at helping others obtain their artistic goals. Her gentle mannerism and friendly face has been a great contribution to the success of The Zebra Room. Under her direction, The Zebra Room has continued to be a great place for people to learn ballroom and others styles of dancing. It is an independent studio where many different teachers of different styles of dance cooperate together in a friendly and eclectic creativity-inducing environment. In Trish Sie’s opinion, “Olivia's absolutely head over heels in love with dance. She always has been; she always will be. Everyone around her can sense it, and it's contagious. I love that dance-smitten spirit about her, and I love her tireless work to make Orlando's dance scene thrive. I don't think The Zebra Room would be there without her."
