Olivia and Fitz, Meredith and Derek in middle of pack in favorite couple poll

On March 5, “TV Guide” posted the current top ten standings in the Favorite Couple category of the Fan Favorite Awards on their Facebook page.

Shonda Rhimes’ super couple, Olivia (Kerry Washington) and Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) from “Scandal” ranks right in the middle of the pack at number five behind “Grey’s Anatomy’s” Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek (Patrick Dempsey), who sit at number four.

This means two of Rhimes’ most popular couples made the top five of the poll thus far. It’s also notable that MerDer fans are still 'shipping after 9 seasons of “Grey’s Anatomy” and Olitz fans are on fire for Fitz and Olivia, who are new to the TV coupledom landscape, with “Scandal” just into its second season.

Meredith Grey and Derek Shepherd have weathered all kinds of storms and are currently still very much in love, with one adopted daughter, Zola, and one baby on the way via Meredith’s pregnancy.

Olivia and Fitz, however, are currently split after Fitz broke things off following steamy sex. He told Olivia "we're done" because she betrayed him by her involvement in his rigged election. Plus, Fitz is married and is the POTUS. So, their whole relationship is taboo, which is a huge part of its appeal.

Now, Olivia’s got a chance to move on with a hunky Pentagon officer, Jack (Scott Foley). But, what she doesn't know is that Fitz commissioned Jake to watch her every move—and he does this via video surveillance in every room of her home.

Even though Fitz tells Jake Olivia is a danger to the country, it’s clear his feelings for Olivia still run deep. It's doubtful these two will ever really get over each other.

Olivia and Fitz join other newcomers Bryan (Andrew Rannells) and David (Justin Bartha) from “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy’s newest series, “The New Normal,” in tenth place and Snow White and Prince Charming from “Once Upon a Time” in sixth place.

Most of the other couples on the list are veterans, like MerDer. Here is how the “TV Guide” top ten Fan Favorite Couples rank so far:

Voting closes on March 11 at noon ET, so there is still plenty of time to vote and these rankings could definitely change.
