It's a well known fact, that there's no love lost between legendary wrestler Ole Anderson and WWE CEO Vince McMahon. Last week, the WWE announced that they will be inducting the 4 Horsemen into their HOF. However, they skipped the original group, which included Ole, and decided to induct the 3rd incarnation of the faction which included Barry Windham. The skipping of Ole Anderson caused a negative backlash from longtime Horsemen fans. But it didn't bother Ole. According to a Sunday January 15th report by PostandCourier.com, Ole Anderson made the following comments about Vince McMahon and the WWE HOF:
“Vince McMahon hates my guts, and I don’t like him. So that’s all there is to it. To be a part of that, anyone with a brain knows who the first Four Horsemen were. It was me and Arn and Ric and Tully Blanchard, and J.J. Dillon was the manager. So if they don’t know that, they don’t know anything about wrestling anyway. So what’s the difference? Vince McMahon is never going to call me. I hate his guts just like he hates mine. It’s no big deal.”
As I stated last week when the news first broke of the Horsemen induction, Ole and Vince despise each other. Every chance that Ole gets, he takes a shot at Vince. Anderson has never been one to shy away from saying what he thinks about McMahon or today's wrestling product.
Without Ole Anderson, there would have been no 4 Horsemen. He was the member that solidified the groups toughness. He was the senior member at the time and probably had more years in the business than Arn, Flair, and Tully combined. Let's just hope that one or two of the members getting inducted on Saturday March 31st, will mention Ole in their speeches. For more on the Post and Courier's report, click here.
