In another sad chapter of Dick Slater's life, the former wrestling star was arrested on Sunday, March 3rd, for failing to appear in court on a previous theft charge. Slater, 61 years old, was booked into the Pinellas County Jail and is being held on a $2,026 bond, according to a March 3rd report by MyFoxTampaBay.com. Slater was arrest on February 5th for a theft charge and was scheduled to appear in court on February 25th.
This is the 5th arrest in the last 6 years for Slater who has been on a downward spiral since 2004 when he was convicted of stabbing his ex-girlfriend. He received 1 year house arrest and 2 years probation as he claimed it was the pain killers he was taking that caused him to lash out like that.
In other old school wrestling news, WWE has confirmed that the following wrestling legends will be appearing on the "Old School" edition of RAW this week:
- Ted DiBiase
- Dusty Rhodes
- Hacksaw Jim Duggan
- Ric Flair
- Mean Gene Okerlund
It will be interesting to see if the WWE uses any of these legends to help further the buildup to WrestleMania 29. How about an encounter between these legends and The Shield, who attacked Flair on a previous edition of RAW?
