Begin by mining or gathering six clay and four copper ore. Then purchase or take two iron ore. Iron ore can be found dropped in iron mines and can be purchased from other players or the general store. The mining shop in the dwarven mines right when you descend from near the Monastery also carries iron ore.
From Falador, follow the road northwest out of the city towards Taverly. Look for the house with an anvil on the minimap. Bring the ores with you, unnoted. Make sure also that the clay is dry, not wet.
Speak to Doric to be asked to procure the ore. Exit the conversation and talk to him again to complete the quest.
Collect the 180 coins and 1,300 mining experience, and bypass the slow mining rates of the low levels!
