Old Rip Van Winkle highest rated bourbon tasting notes

Cocktails Examiner

Buffalo Trace Distillery is home to many
bourbon brands within the industry. One of which is the widely recognizable and respected
Old Rip Van Winkle name. June 2002 marked a turning point in
bourbon history when
Buffalo Trace and Van Winkle joined forces to bottle and produce the Old Rip Van Winkle brands.
The heritage of Van Winkle
bourbon runs four generations deep. The website isn’t
flashy, but rather straightforward and to the point. The goal is great bourbon with a soft, smooth finish, and rich flavor depicting the exceptional recipe and
family heritage that goes into every batch of Van Winkle. Rather than use rye in their recipe like most
bourbon distillers, Van Winkle opts for a ‘whisper of wheat’ and extra aging time for a smoother and sweeter mingling of flavor. Every batch of Van Winkle
bourbons are aged a minimum of 10 Years.
“The aging process could be slowed down if it had to work its way through Congress.” Quote found on the Old Rip Van Winkle website
