Old Miamiville Train Tracks

Located at Center Street and Glendale Milford Road is the old Miamiville train tracks which are reputed to be haunted.  The area is now lined with concrete walking paths but there were originally these paths were train tracks that ran through Miamiville carrying anything from war supplies to soldiers and passengers.  During the Civil War this stretch of track was incredibly important to the Union because it helped troops and supplies go from northeast going through Miamiville on their way to Camp Dennison where the Union Army had set up camp.  When Morgan's Raiders moved into north Ohio they attempted to disrupt the Union war effort and one of their attempts was on this track.  Morgan's Raiders had piled a barricade of rail ties onto the tracks just past a turn in Miamiville and at the time the engineer of the train was a guy by the name of Cornelius Conway.  By the time he was able to see the barricade it was too late and the train derailed killing Cornelius.  If you are walking down the concrete path at night some say that you can still see Cornelius with his lantern walking up and down to warn others of danger that lies ahead.  Other conductors that ran trains along this railroad track claimed to have been seeing this apparition since the 1800s when he was first reported.  They would be forced to stop but when they go to check on him he would simply vanish.
