Here's your chance to spend a fun-filled day in the country with down-home activities that the whole family can enjoy. Just head for the 38th annual Old Fashioned Farmers' Days event being held in Van Wert, Ohio on Thursday, July 3, Friday, July 4, Saturday, July 5 and Sunday, July 6.
Old Fashioned Farmers' Days Taking place at the Van Wert County Fairgrounds, Old Fashioned Farmers' Days has a multitude of activities for all ages which celebrate country farm living.
This year's event features antique tractors and machinery displays, an antique tractor pull, antique car racing, a mule, donkey & miniature horse show, a quilt & needle arts show, a draft horse pull, performances by clown Grace C. Giggles and a petting zoo (Animal Land).
In addition there will be a car show and demonstrations that include cow milking and chain saw sculpting in addition to a youth talent show.
Make sure you "sit a spell" and catch the contestants performing in the Banjo, Fiddle and Harmonica competitions.
Other live entertainment will be provided by several musical groups highlighting music genres like '50's & '60's music, country, polka and gospel. Don't miss the big concert on Saturday evening at 7 p.m. "Memories of the King," a tribute to Elvis Presley by Brent A. Cooper.
And be sure to check out the annual Barney Fife Look-Alike Contest.
There will be plenty of food and beverages available for purchase.
Hours for the Old Fashioned Farmers' Days are 9 a.m - 9 p.m. on Thursday, 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. on Friday (Independence Day), 9 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m- 2 p.m. on Sunday. Admission at the gate is $3 per person ( 13 and up). Ages 12 and under are free. A 3-day pass is $7 per person.
