Oktoberfest sprint triathlon is your last chance to race a tri in the Colorado Front Range in 2013. This sprint-distance race, scheduled for October 5 at Longmont’s Union Reservoir, has been a traditional capping event to the race season. This year it is even later in the season, having been postponed due to the deluge and flooding in the area in early September.
Even if you have wrapped up your race season, you can still come out to volunteer. Without Limits Productions, owners of the race, show their appreciation to volunteers by offering discounts on future races. And there are other benefits to volunteering: learning more about the sport and gaining the heartfelt thanks of the participants you are helping. And the Boulder Triathlon Club is planning a post-race, end-of-season gala (cocktail dresses optional) after the race.
Some athletes volunteer one race for every three or four that they race in. This could be your chance to square the ledger for this year.
In addition to being a fine event in a great venue, Oktoberfest is it for athletes who want one more local race before the season closes.
