In the heart of downtown Mountain View, one of the area's newest hot spots, Steins Beer Garden & Restaurant, is hosting one of the Bay Area's most ambitious Oktoberfest parties for two weeks from September 21 through October 6, 2013.
Steins will be featuring the largest German beer tap takeover that the Bay Area has ever seen by replacing all 31 of its taps with authentic German beers for the celebration. Debate the virtues of Hofbrau Oktoberfest versus Erdinger Oktoberfest. Or perhaps you'd prefer Weihenstephaner Weissbier to Franziskaner Dunkel Weisse? Steins will also serve special non-alcoholic beer from Erdinger so everyone can join in on all the fun.
App Happy Party
The highlight comes on the weekend of October 5-6, 2013 when the first-ever free Mountain View Oktoberfest takes place under the tent behind Stein's Restaurant & Bar. Featuring German-inspired food and music, the festivities begin at 10 a.m. both days and continue until 6 p.m. when the fun continues at Stein's and Tied House. Admission is free. #MVOktoberfest is partnering with PayPal to simplify the payment process for beer tickets and steins purchases. Just download the PayPal app before arriving to make payment a breeze.
Executive Chef Colby M. Reade also announces his German menu with traditional German fare, perhaps the best to be found on this side of a Lufthansa flight. The full menu for the Oktoberfest recalls memories of magnificent munching in München.
