Oktoberfest kicks off on Friday, September 27, 2013 in Denver’s Historic Ballpark Neighborhood on Larimer Street. Oktoberfest is an annual celebration that originated in Germany in the early 1800’s, it is now one of the longest running celebrations around the world. The festival is a long standing tradition that began in Germany but is now celebrated worldwide. It is a celebration of German heritage through good food and good entertainment.
This year Denver will host Oktoberfest for the 44th year and the festival is known to be one of the country’s largest celebrations. The festival will have plenty of food, drinks, and entertainment, including a 5K run, Bratwurst eating contest, and a Long Dog Derby. Oktoberfest is a family friendly event and there will be activities for all ages. Oktoberfest begins Friday, September 27th – Sunday, October 6th.
