Everyone knows that Napa, California is a perfect getaway, ideal for wine tasting, unbeatable for hot air ballooning, fabulous for dining and feasting, and for its flat out enviable weather. Now it's also a destination for local artisan beers served at Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 12, 2013.
Pull on your lederhosen and head for the hills beside the The Meritage Resort and Spa in Napa. Brew Fest is celebrated with a special Oktoberfest menu and live music by Austin & Owen from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Fountain Courtyard. Fill your souvenir glass with the Crush Ultra Lounge logo with beers from Napa Smith Brewery (Napa), Lagunitas Brewing Company (Petaluma), Anchor Steam Brewing Company (San Francisco), Blue Moon Brewing Company and Samuel Adams.
What would an Oktoberfest be without the best of Bavaria? The menu on October 12 is planned by the chefs of The Meritage Resort includes favorite German specialities like bratwurst and wienerle, traditional sauerkraut with smoked pork ham hocks, wiener schnitzel slider with lingonberry and cucumber salad, and sautéed spaetzle, the traditional noodles.
Sound tempting? You can always turn it into an October getaway by packing your swimsuit for a dip in the outdoor heated pool, relaxing those tired muscles with a signature Terra massage, luxuriating in an exfoliating Cabernet grape seed scrub, and spending the night in a comfy guest room or expansive suite.
