Oksana Grigorieva being sued by her own lawyer in the Mel Gibson case

Oksana Grigorieva is being sued by her own lawyer for  trying to back out of a deal to pay his agreed upon fee after he negotiated a $15 million deal for her from Mel Gibson.

Eric George and his associate, Sonia Lee, negotiated a very generous $15 million financial package for Oksana and baby Lucia, which was signed in May 2010 by both Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva. 

Two retired judges served as mediators, and after extensive negotiations by attorneys on both sides, an agreement was reached, which both parties signed. 

Now Oksana is trying to back out of her end of the deal to pay Eric George for services performed, the same way she backed out and refused to honor her part  of the agreement with Mel Gibson after the paperwork had already been signed.  See  The GENEROUS Financial Offer Oksana Reneged on in Hopes of Extorting Mel Gibson for More

The Deal Eric George Cut with Mel Gibson on Oksana’s Behalf

Eric George negotiated the following deal with Mel Gibson (and his attorneys) on behalf of Oksana and baby Lucia.   Below are the terms of that deal.

For Oksana:  

• $1 million when Oksana turns over of all of the "evidence" (defined in a related document as "recordings, audio tapes, emails, text messages, videotapes and photographs”)
• $10,000 per month for 18 additional years payable beginning on January 1, 2011.
• a $1 million life insurance policy on Mel
• the rights to their Getty picture deal
• all profits from Oksana's album, totaling $17,112
• $300,000 in year 5
• $400,000 in year 10
• $300,000 in year 15

 For Lucia:   

• $50,000 a year for the next 20 years
• $10,000 a year for the next 20 years for college expenses
• $4,000 a month for additional child support for 18 years
• $4.3 million minimum when Mel dies.
• and more, including  the 4-bedroom home in Sherman Oaks where Oksana and Lucia currently live, and expenses for a nanny for baby Lucia (now 11 months old) until she reaches the age of 5.

Eric George was entitled to a fee of 10% of the Oksana’s portion of the negotiated deal, which according to George’s calculations, amounts to somewhere in the neighborhood of $1.5 million dollars.   Baby Lucia’s portion (child support and other financial benefits) of the negotiated deal was exempt from George’s fee.  See  Did Oksana’s Greed Cost Baby Lucia Her Inheritance from Mel Gibson?

After being told by experts she consulted with after the agreement was signed, that she probably could have gotten more, Oksana wanted to renegotiate the deal.   See  $15 Million Was Not Enough for Gold Digger Oksana Grigorieva

Eric George wanted no part of a renegotiation since he had already performed the required services  and negotiated a very generous deal on Oksana’s behalf and the agreement had already been signed.

But Oksana has adamantly refused to pay.

Oksana Grigorieva has publicly disavowed her signed agreement with Mel Gibson, and has attempted to use this as a legal means to avoid paying Eric George’s fee.

She has repeatedly refused  to pay Eric George and his firm for services rendered, and recently filed legal documents in an effort to get the courts to dismiss  George’s claim.

But the courts have ruled in Eric George’s behalf. 

Despite Oksana’s disavowals, her (false) claims that she was coerced into signing the agreement, and her violations of the terms of that signed agreement, the judge denied Oksana’s motion and ruled that she is legally obligated to pay Eric George’s fee.

So  that’s where the situation now stands.

Now that Oksana’s plan has backfired, and she currently faces extortion charges, and it will be interesting to see what her next move will be.
