Oklahoma State routs Texas Tech, ties for Big 12 lead

Oklahoma State moved into a tie for the Big 12 lead with an easy 91-67 win over Texas Tech Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013 in Lubbock, Texas. After Wednesday, Oklahoma State, Kansas and Kansas State are all at 8-3. Oklahoma State has a win over Kansas - at Kansas - under its belt, and has lost to Kansas State.

The Cowboys host Oklahoma this weekend in the Bedlam rivalry. Oklahoma beat the Cowboys in Norman by nine in January. The Cowboys have control over their destiny. If they were to win the remainder of their games, they would win the Big 12 title.

Wednesday night it was Markel Brown with another big shooting night, as he hit seven of eight three-pointers and finished with 25 points. Brown hit his first five shots, all 3-pointers, in the first half. Phil Forte added 14 points for the Cowboys (18-5, 8-3 Big 12), who have won six straight.

Oklahoma State jumped out to a 24-6 lead. Texas Tech got within 10 later in the first half, but never got closer. Oklahoma State led 55-34 at halftime and led by as many as 32 in the second half.

Michael Cobbins scored 13 and Marcus Smart added 10 for the Cowboys. A total of 14 players saw action for the Cowboys and 11 of them scored.

Dusty Hannahs led Texas Tech with 14.

The Cowboys shot 62 percent from the field in the first half and 50 percent in the second half.
