The Cowboys racked up 118.5 team points. All but one of the finals matches featured a wrestler in orange and black; all but one won his title bout.
Winning individual conference championships for Oklahoma State: Eddie Klimara at 125 pounds, Jon Morrison at 133, 149-pounder Jordan Oliver, Alex Dieringer at 157, Tyler Caldwell at 165, Chris Chionuma at 184, and heavyweight Alan Gelogaev. Oliver also earned Outstanding Wrestler honors.
The two non-Cowboy wrestlers who won 2013 Big 12 titles were University of Oklahoma's Kendric Maple, 149-pound champ, and Kyven Gadsen, winning the 197-pound crown for Iowa State.
It was a rough debut for the conference's newest member, West Virginia University. In its first appearance at the Big 12 championships, the Mountaineers did not have a single wrestler make it to the finals.
Defending Big 12 team titlewinner, University of Missouri, left the Big 12 conference at the end of last season. This year, the Tigers are wrestling in the 2013 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Wrestling Championships, and will be competing against other MAC mat programs in dual-meet competition in the 2013-14 season.
