With one day remaining before National Signing Day 2014, Oklahoma Sooners recruiting picked up another verbal commitment from one of their major targets. According to NewsOK.com on Feb. 4, Steven Parker committed to the Oklahoma Sooners this morning.
Parker was a safety from Oklahoma high school powerhouse Jenks and gives the Sooners a solid four-star defensive back in an area of concern for the Sooners. Parker made his announcement that he was committing to Oklahoma at his high school on Tuesday, after making a visit to Auburn.
There is still a small question about his commitment because Parker has been on Twitter today and re-tweeted people congratulating him on his OU commitment but also re-tweeted someone who said he heard that Parker was going to Tulsa.
During Signing Day 2014 tomorrow, fans of both schools will see where Steven Parker will finally commit to.
While Parker will fit in perfectly in the Sooners' secondary, and possibly contribute immediately, he wasn't a lock for OU. As a matter of fact, Texas A&M and Auburn both felt that they had a good chance of swinging this recruit as well. However, with Parker being the ninth ranked safety in the nation and the second top recruit in Oklahoma, he was a huge target for the Sooners.
Oklahoma Sooners recruiting looks like it will have one of the top classes in the nation when all is said and done and when Signing Day 2014 hits tomorrow, it could be a great day for Sooner Nation.
