Oklahoma Sooners recruiting: Joe Mixon tells Sooners fans not to worry

Last weekend, Oklahoma Sooners fans heard reports that Joe Mixon paid a visit to the campus of the UCLA Bruins. Since Oklahoma Sooners recruiting commitments are not set in stone until National Signing Day on Wednesday, it was a scary proposition for Sooner Nation. Joe Mixon eased fans fears on Feb. 3 when he took to Twitter after the scare.

"Everyone keep calm!" Mixon tweeted. He then used the hashtags #BoomerSooner, #SIgningDay and #JustWaitOnIt.

Mixon is a five-star recruit from California who chose the attend Oklahoma after the Soonere beat the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Sugar Bowl. Ever since that commitment, Mixon has been openly trying to convince other recruits to join him at Oklahoma for the 2014 class.

It is easy to listen when Joe Mixon calls. The young man is the number one all-purpose running back in the entire nation and might be able to start the minute he walks on campus. He is the most exciting recruit since Oklahoma brought in Adrian Peterson.

It was also scary when he posted a photo yesterday of his Rivals college football recruiting page on Twitter. The page shows that 47 different colleges offered him a scholarship. That made it clear that the Oklahoma Sooners recruiting team were very fortunate to secure his commitment.

However, once again, it was clear where his heart remained, as he left the hashtags #HornsDown and #BoomerSooner. While his trip to UCLA might have been a temporary scare, it is pretty clear that by National Signing Day 2014, Joe Mixon will be an official member of the Oklahoma Sooners.
