Oklahoma prisoners escape: Four prisoners in Anadarko managed to escape through a jail shower on Sunday after unscrewing a small door above their showers, USA Today reports Oct. 28. The Oklahoma prisoners were able to escape by then climbing into entryway.
Two of the four inmates were recaptured Monday after they were found walking down a road in Chickasha -- Dylan Ray Three Irons, 21, and Prime Brown, 23. They were taken into custody after they were followed by authorities to a convenience store.
The other two prisoners still at large are Anthony Mendonca, 24, and Triston Cheadle, 33.
The report said that three of the four men were convicted on drug and burglary charges and awaiting transfer to the state prison. A fourth prisoner was preparing to go on trial for a gun charge.
Residents have been warned that the Oklahoma prisoners could be armed and dangerous.
How did the Oklahoma prisoners' escape plan succeed? They were able to fit themselves into a space where water pipes and other vents were located. Two of the inmates are 162 pounds, possibly less. One is 190 and the other is 230 pounds.
