Around 12:30 a.m. Thursday morning, March 14, an intruder, who was armed with a handgun, kicked in a door to a home located on Main Street in rural Wade, Okla., about 175 miles southeast of Oklahoma City. According to a report by Oklahoma’s Own News 9, the homeowner was also armed and shot at the intruder several times with a handgun.
The intruder was later identified as 27-year-old Parker Allen Tyson of Bennington. Tyson was struck multiple times. After authorities arrived on the scene, medical personnel transported Tyson by ambulance to the Medical Center of Southeast Oklahoma in Durant. Doctors pronounced Tyson dead shortly after arriving, just after 2:30 a.m.
The Bryan County Sheriff’s Department along with The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is currently investigating the incident to determine whether or not the shooting was justifiable. No arrests have been made and none are expected.
This is yet another story, not reported by mainstream media, where a gun was used in self-defense.
