Oklahoma City reacts to death of Whitney Houston

Oklahoma City residents were stunned when MSN announced the death of Whitney Houston, pop icon. Whitney Houston passed away today at the age of 48. 

“Whitney Houston was so talented,” Kerry Staggs, from Oklahoma City, said. “I hated to watch her throw it all away for drugs. She still had so much potential left.”

Whitney Houston was born into music. Her mother, Cissy Houston, was a gospel singer. Dionne Warwick was her cousin. She was even the goddaughter to Aretha Franklin.

“No one is immune to the damage drugs do,” Larry Walker, from Del City, said. “I would love to remember her as the great talent she was, but I can’t get the image of her strung out.”

“Much too young to die,” Courtney Andrews, from Oklahoma City, said. “I think about her family. We watched Whitney throw it all away, but they were the ones with the front row seats.”

The cause of Houston’s death has not yet been released. It is unsure if her death was related to her trouble with drugs and alcohol.
