Sam Porter, who leads the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma Disaster Relief Team Ministries, has sent out an email indicating that Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief Teams will be working in Haiti.  They have not yet been mobilized, but he expects that they soon will be called upon to help.  According to Porter the Florida Baptist Convention is taking the lead among Baptists.  The Florida Convention has an pre-established relationship with the Baptists of Haiti and because of those relationships, they are the best avenue for coordinating Baptists efforts.

According to the BGCO website the Disaster Relief Ministries exists to "enlist, equip and enable volunteers to help others following a disaster, becoming the hands and feet of Jesus, doing personal ministry in order to earn the right to share the gospel."

Porter also notes that 100% of contributions given toward Haiti relief through the BGCO go to the work in Haiti.  All administrative expenses are already paid for through the budget of the BGCO which comes from the regular gifts of member churches.
