The Oklahoma Department of Human Services and Areawide Aging Agency announce their annual Elder Poetry Contest has been in effect for 38 years. Residents statewide, 60 and over are asked to submit poems that are original and never previously published. The categories for submission only include that lower age limit, and split male/female.

The Oklahoma Department of Human Services is hosting an annual conference with the Areawide Aging Agency in May 2013 and it will release an original book of winning poems as part of the program below.
Professional presenters are also asked to submit their proposals 38th Annual Oklahoma Conference on Aging “The Road to Aging Well: Enjoy Your Trip”, a worker and professional TRAINING event. This will be May 21-23, 2013 Embassy Suites Norman Hotel & Conference Center. OKDHS accepting session proposals. Download the Call for Sessions and submit by Jan. 31, 2013.
