According to the Alberta Junior Hockey League website, the Okotoks Oilers have advanced to the South Division Final of the Alberta Junior Hockey League playoffs.
On Tuesday night at the Edgeworth Centre in Camrose, John Edwardh of Calgary scored the game winning goal with 10:50 remaining in the third period on the power play to give the Oilers a 2-1 victory and a 4-0 win in the best out of seven series in the Alberta Junior Hockey League's South Division semi-final.
Edwardh scored for the Oilers just over a minute after Nelson Gadoury tied the game for Camrose on a shorthanded goal.
For the second straight contest, Oilers goaltender Jared D'Amico of Chestermere, Alberta was named player of the game. On Tuesday, D'Amico made 31 saves.
The Oilers will now await their opponent in the South Division Final. On Tuesday, the Drumheller Dragons defeated the Brooks Bandits 3-2 in overtime. Brooks still leads the series 3-1.
Earlier on Tuesday the Oilers announced that head coach and general manager James Poole would be signed through the 2015-16 season.
