On Saturday, April 3 over 100 people gathered for the Sixth Annual Ohioans For Concealed Carry Fun 'n Gun fundraiser!
This year, the event was again hosted by the Tactical Defense Institute in West Union, Ohio. John Benner and his staff were joined by Randy Bueche and a team of International Defensive Pistol Association competitors to help OFCC make this event a great success.
The day started out with a beautiful morning, though dark clouds and gusting winds threatened to dampen the fun in the afternoon but we got lucky and the rain never came.
Participants in the shoot got to experience IDPA-type scenarios set up to mimic self-defense situations that you might find yourself in. One stage of the event, for example, found the participant coming home and being attacked by two assailants while carrying a child. At another stage, shooters moved through a darkened live-fire house to experience defensive shooting in low-light conditions. In the Force-on-Force house, participants swapped out their firearms for SoftAir guns and experienced a true-to-life type encounter with a live assailant!
While not a training event, participants still benefited from the knowledge of the TDI and IDPA instructors and many of the shooters expressed an interest in coming back to TDI to take a training class.
Overall, an excellent time was had by all and Ohioans For Concealed Carry thanks everyone for attending as well as thanking all the staff for donating their time to help raise money to defend and expand gun rights in Ohio.
