The Allen County Humane Society will be the location of an Animal Law Seminar addressing Animal Cruelty in Ohio. This is in conjunction with The Ohio Voters for Companion Animals, which is an Ohio based non profit to promote animal welfare and care in the state. They believe this is best achieved through education. legislation and grass roots community involvement.
There will be a round table discussion held April 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 3606 Elida Road. A $40 registration fee is required and their are limited slots available. Lunch will be included.
The 10 a.m. session will comprise Discussing Three Steps to Recognizing Animal Cruelty. Lunch will break at noon with a 1 p.m. The afternoon session will cover Discussion of Knowing What Happens from the Moment an Arrest Warrant is issued through Conviction.
Speakers for this event are Steffen Evan Baldwin, Director of Animal Cruelty Task Force of Ohio, John Bell, Esq., Legal Council for the Ohio SPCA, Julie Shellhammer, Allen County Dog Warden, and Nicole Smith Esq., Assistant City Prosecutor of Lima Municipal Court. Other speakers are scheduled for this event.
