Ohio school shooter gave grieving family the finger at sentencing

Ohio school shooter TJ Lane disrespected the grieving families of his victims by giving them the finger at his sentencing. When he arrived at the sentencing hearing he unbuttoned his shirt to reveal a t-shirt with the word “killer” written on the front.

TJ Lane, 18, received the opportunity to address the court and make a statement. After his short statement, he smirked as he stuck up his middle finger to the families of the three young men he gunned down.

Once Lane made the obscene gesture, the prosecutor stated, “Frankly, I wasn’t prepared for this.” He went on to say that by making the hand gesture it proved that Lane is a “disgusting human being.”

The prosecutor went on to say, “This is confirming what we have known all along, that this was a cold, calculated, premeditated killing.”

On February 27, 2012 TJ Lane went on a killing spree at Chardon High School. When the shooting was over, Daniel Parmertor, 16, Demetrius Hewlin, 16, and Russell King Jr., 17, were dead.

Daniel Parmertor’s mother told Lane, “You don’t deserve to take another breath while my 16-year-old son Danny lies in the cold, hard ground.”

TJ Lane pleaded guilty on February 26 and the judge sentenced him to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. When the judge announced his sentence, TJ Lane laughed.
