Ohio Renaissance Festival celebrates 20 years

Since 1989, the Ohio Renaissance Festival has delighted and educated visitors with a realistic view of life in the era of Queen Elizabeth I. The festival is open weekends through October 25th this year from 10:30 am until 6:00 pm. Admission is $19.99 for adults and $9.99 for children 5-12. Parking is $2.00.

Renaissance Park is a permanent 30-acre village in Harveysburg, Ohio. It has been built to authentically represent a 16th century village.

Although the commercial nature of the festival is evident at every turn, there is still much to be learned from a trip to the RenFest. Focus your trip on the authentic and skilled crafting shops such as the blacksmiths, weavers, glassblowers, and musicians.

The various shows offer a great deal of educational value as well. The festival offers nearly 100 shows daily on 11 stages including; a full armored joust, jugglers, plays, and a pirate show. Visitors also can interact with in-character festival staff throughout the venue.

Themed weekends on the schedule for the rest of the year include:

Feast of Fools, October 3 & 4th

Highland Weekend, October 10 & 11th

Romance Weekend, October 17 & 18th

Marketplace Weekend, October 24 & 25th
