According to Wednesday's Action 19 News, authorities in Cleveland, Ohio, arrested a man for allegedly abusing a pit bull puppy.
Cameras were rolling on Wednesday as Cleveland police officers led suspected abuser, William Congress, to a waiting police car. Congress is believed to be responsible for the barbaric abuse of a pit bull puppy who showed signs of being strangled, beaten in the head and battered to the point of sustaining a broken leg.
Investigators have been looking for Congress for months.
Chief Animal Protective League Investigator, Jed Mignano, told Action 19 News how Congress tried to elude the authorities, stating:
Again, in the contact he told me, I'd have to come find him,"
"So I did."
Investigators with the Animal Protective League learned about the battered puppy after Congress allegedly sent text messages to a roommate which showed the abuse. While a reporter attempted to find out why Congress hurt the pup, he repeatedly denied the allegations and told them to get the camera out of his face.
The puppy was rescued and has been under the care of the APL; Congress is facing animal cruelty charges.
