Ohio landlord beats tenant for overdue rent

According to The International Business Times, reported on February 21st, an Ohio landlord named Ron Kronenburger beat his tenant with a belt for owing overdue rent in the amount of $2,800. The tenant is only 29 years old and the landlord took a belt and beat him with it saying, “If you are going to act like a child, I am going to treat you like one.”

The victim was beaten four times with the belt. According to police Chief Gary Copeland, the victim allowed it to happen because he said he was scared and wanted to get it over with. He actually bent over a chair and allowed this to happen. The landlord ended up leaving a few small marks on the young man.

The Waynesville, Ohio landlord was charged with one count of assault. Some residents were shocked because the landlord is allegedly a respected business man. However, one resident said if someone owed him that much money, he would spank him too.
