Ohio Dance Theatre brings “Cinderella” to the Stocker Arts Center for one performance only
For those who are lovers of true Classical Ballet, this Sunday is your lucky day. September 29, 2013 will be the performance of “Cinderella” by the Ohio Dance Theatre who is headquartered in Oberlin, Ohio. There will be one performance only at the Stocker Arts Center in Elyria, Ohio at 2:00 p.m.
“Cinderella” is a Classical Ballet performance for all ages that combines a magnificent stage, wonderful costumes and a stirring score by Prokofiev that will leave you breathless and wanting more. There is poor Cinderella forced to clean house of her step mother and step sisters, the invitation to the grand ball, the comical dance lessons given to the step sisters, the arrival of the Fairy God Mother who transforms Cinderella into a beautiful princess and lastly the Grand Ball with amazing dancing followed by the frantic search by the prince and the reuniting with Cinderella.
This well known tale of a poor girl’s rag to riches saga has all the elements to make it great including the nasty step-mother two hilarious step-sisters, a radiant Fairy Godmother and of course the Prince to give the story a fairytale “happily ever after” ending.
Having seen the rehearsals for this wonderful ballet I can assure you that it is filled with all the grandeur that one comes to expect from professional classical ballet performances. There are the leaps, lifts and jumps to thrill as well as the beautiful pageantry that will have everyone in the audience cheering.
