The video of the Ohio crash has been released showing the car that caused this deadly crash going about 125 mph right before the collision. This Ohio crash killed an elderly couple on Thanksgiving as they made their way home from a family dinner. According to The Inquisitr on Dec. 10, the video shows the police arriving at the fiery crash of the two vehicles following the car racing past state troopers along the highway.
Shortly after the car flew past police it slammed into an elderly couple in a van causing an inferno. Police had gone after the car, but it was going at such a high-rate of speed, that police were far behind the car at the time of the crash.
The victims in the van were identified as Wilbur L. and Margaret A. McCoy, both age 77, from Toledo, Ohio and were on their way home from a Thanksgiving dinner when their lives were ended..The driver that caused the crash, 24-year-old Andrew D Gans had “non-life threatening” injuries.
While the alcohol test results on Gans wasn’t immediate available, police believe alcohol or drugs played a part in this crash. Gans is undergoing a psychiatric evaluation.
The crash caused the turnpike to be closed for hours exposing drivers to the frigid temperatures as mechanical failures and dead batteries were abundant due to the weather. The police car cam video can be seen above.
