Sometimes parents are the last to know about what is going out “out there!”
Is there a never-ending lack of common sense and good judgment among some people who God gave a good working brain?
Just when we think we have heard it all, then up jumps yet another dangerous drug that can kill and cause numerous health problems - and so much pain and sorrow for families; as well as the user.
There is a message below which was posted on Facebook recently informing uninformed parents about a drug called, “Molly.” It is also called by many names and contains various mixtures of chemicals. It comes in powder or pill form. While some say it is not as bad as other drugs, we can also say that being blind in one eye is not as bad as being blind in both eyes.
It seems that being blind in the mind is the cause of so many people willing to take a chance on losing their lives, harming their loved ones, and actually becoming a criminal of some sort - all for a new “high.” It is hard for most people to understand this. Are the lives of these people so bad that they must flee from it and hide under the cloak of some hallucinational aspect of life?
Hallucinational:
“A sensory experience of something that does not exist outside the mind, caused by various physical and mental disorders, or by reaction to certain toxic substances, and usually manifested as visual or auditory images.
2. The sensation caused by a hallucinatory condition or the object or scene visualized.
3. A false notion, belief, or impression; illusion; delusion.”
This drug is often the subject of some of today’s rap music. If the government should infringe on anyone’s free speech, it should be these songs that advocate violence against women and policemen and praises the use of drugs. They are far more dangerous to the kids than chocolate milk or soft drinks which have been banned in schools. If you are a parent in the dark, you had better believe that your kids know about these drugs. And you had better turn on a few lights. Sticking your head in the sand will not change a thing.
Just how low does our country have to go before some people will open their eyes and say, “Hey, what the heck is going on? We have got to stop this!”
Message as it appeared on Facebook.

Below is a recent article posted on the MTV web site:
“In 2012, Molly became the new "it" drug in hip-hop, name-dropped by a number of artists including Kanye West, Juicy J, Rick Ross, French Montana, Mac Miller and newcomer Trinidad James.
Molly is the pure powder or crystal form of MDMA, a drug commonly used in ecstasy pills, and it is known to induce a euphoric state. James, who appeared on "RapFix Live" on Wednesday, has become a scapegoat of late for the drug because of his "pop a Molly, I'm sweatin' " lyric from his breakout single "All Gold Everything."
"All the people are like, 'I don't know what it is, but every time I hear the song, I just wanna do it,' " James said.”That's a terrible excuse, but go 'head, get high, go 'head. Blame Trinidad, blame it on me."
The fact is Trinidad isn't the only one using it, and while some rappers surely name-drop the drug simply because it has now become cool to do so, for others it is a real-life product of their party-driven lifestyle. "When people start talking about something a lot, it doesn't become exclusive no more. Everybody on Molly now," French Montana told MTV News.”
This drug is becoming popular at music festivals. Read more here.
There is an informative video on YouTube which can enlighten you regarding this drug.
It also repeats lines from songs such as this one from Madonna: “How many people in this crowd have seen Molly?”
“Something ‘bout Mary, she’s gone off that Molly,” Kenye West.
“got your girl on Molly and we smokin’ loud and drinkin’.” Bezee in the Trap – Micki Menija
National Institute on Drug Abuse lists the side effects in this article: “What Are Other Health Effects of MDMA?”
“MDMA can have many of the same physical effects as other stimulants like cocaine and amphetamines. These include increases in heart rate and blood pressure, which are particularly risky for people with circulatory problems or heart disease. MDMA users may experience other symptoms such as muscle tension, involuntary teeth clenching, nausea, blurred vision, faintness, and chills or sweating. In high doses, MDMA can interfere with the body’s ability to regulate temperature. On rare but unpredictable occasions, this can lead to a sharp increase in body temperature (hyperthermia), which can result in liver, kidney, or cardiovascular system failure or even death. MDMA can interfere with its own metabolism (breakdown within the body), causing potentially harmful levels to build up in the body if it is taken repeatedly within short periods of time.
Compounding the risks of ecstasy use is the fact that other potentially harmful drugs (including synthetic cathinones, the psychoactive ingredients in “bath salts”) are sometimes sold as ecstasy. These drugs can be neurotoxic or pose other unpredictable health risks. And ecstasy tablets that do contain MDMA may contain additional substances such as ephedrine (a stimulant), dextromethorphan (a cough suppressant), ketamine, caffeine, cocaine, or methamphetamine. The combination of MDMA with one or more of these drugs may be hazardous. Users who intentionally or unknowingly combine such a mixture with additional substances such as marijuana and alcohol may be putting themselves at even higher risk for adverse health effects.
Additionally, the closeness-promoting effects of MDMA and its use in sexually charged contexts (and especially in combination with sildenafil) may encourage unsafe sex, which is a risk factor for contracting or spreading HIV and hepatitis.
In addition to those risks listed above, there is also the risk of falling, being in an auto accident, having a stroke and being at the risk from others in the area such as robberies, beatings, and rape.
Some parents have already given up on their children as a lost cause and would just rather put them out of their sight and out of their mind; and perhaps many have gone so far that only good rehab or God can change.
But for those parents who are still lovingly in control of their children, they should make it part of their parenting to be aware of all that is “out there” just waiting to devour their children. One of the best illustrations a parent can give their children is for themselves to be drug and alcohol free. Another is to take the time to “know” their child and to be a huge part of their lives while they are growing up and to teach them Biblical principles that will go with them the rest of their lives.
Reading and teaching your children from the Book of Proverbs can make a difference in how your child will grow up and face life. There are 31 Proverbs and if you would just read one chapter each day of the corresponding day in the month, when they are older, they will be filled with wisdom. Start on the first day of the month – and at the last day (and the last of the Proverbs) begin again. When the month has less than 31 days; read all the last ones on day 31 so you can start anew on day one of the month.
“Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.” Proverbs 1:8
“I give you sound learning, so do not forsake my teaching.” Proverbs 4:2
“For this command is a lamp, this teaching is a light, and correction and instruction are the way to life.” Proverbs 6:23
Parents don't sit back and expect society to raise your children - it will do a very poor job.
