The Philly Tech Week 2014 website went public yesterday, January 27, 2014, according to an email announcement, as did a tentative schedule of some of this year's PTW events.

The unveiling of the PTW site kicks off yet another season of some of the best tech companies, coding, contests, and camaraderie that Philadelphia has ever seen.

Kickoff PTW 2014 with Arcade @ The Oval

The Arcade @ The Oval kicks off this year’s PTW. Located at the “Park on the Parkway” at the bottom of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, the Arcade @ The Oval is the second edition of the world’s largest arcade game, and is played on the side of the Cira Centre.

Similar to last year’s first and world’s largest game of pong, this year’s arcade game of choice is Tetris. Those who wish to play must RSVP, and you can do so at the Philly website.

Both Philly and Innovations helped to develop the site, which is, according to the email,

“Fully responsive, ready to play with on your mobile and tablet devices.”

Those who wish to attend PTW 2014 can plan for the even using the Featured Events Calendar, and the general Events Calendar in addition to the Track Days page, on which visitors can view an entire day’s schedule including where events are located, and when.

The announcement also notes that since this is a soft launch, site visitors should keep in mind that they might run into bugs and that if they do, to report them.

PTW RSVP details

The 2014 edition of Philly Tech Week kicks off April 4 and runs until April 12 officially, according to event highlights, but PTW usually starts its opening ceremonies a day earlier – unofficially, of course. In addition to the Arcade @ The Oval, PTW 2014 will feature daily events hosted around the city at a number of local businesses.

Though some PTW 2014 events are free, most require pre-registration. Those who with to do so should visit Philly for details on how to register, or to purchase event tickets.
