Nike officially revealed the Nike Kobe 9 Elite colorway that Kobe Bryant will be wearing for the 2014 NBA All-Star Game on Tuesday. Called the "Maestro," the shoe is a tribute to the rich jazz scene that New Orleans has grown to be famous for.
The jazz influence is a perfect fit for Kobe Bryant because of his penchant for bringing improvisation to the game of basketball. Few people in the history of the sport have been able to be as creative and effective as Bryant and this colorway of the Nike Kobe 9 Elite has plenty of features that call to mind jazz music. The Kobe 9 "Maestro" uses brass accents on the upper to symbolize the instruments some of the greats have sued through the yeas while a glow-in-the-dark outsole along with other parts of the shoe represent how jazz clubs only truly get into gear when they are playing at night.
The Nike Kobe 9 Elite "Maestro" along with the rest of the 2014 Nike NBA All-Star Game Collection will be available at Nike.com and select retail locations on Friday, February 14. Price for each shoe and exact locations have not been revealed at this time.
