Official: Drogba re-signs with Chelsea

Rumors have been going on all week regarding the potential landing spot of Chelsea legend Didier Drogba. The rumors have now ended as Drogba has re-joined Chelsea F.C on a one year contract.

Upon signing with Chelsea, Drogba discussed his decision to re-sign with the club's official website. He stated, ""It was an easy decision,”

"I couldn't turn down the opportunity to work with Jose again. Everyone knows the special relationship I have with this club and it has always felt like home to me.

"My desire to win is still the same and I look forward to the opportunity to help this team. I am excited for this next chapter of my career."

On his Instagram page Drogba stated, "So CFC offered me the opportunity to create more history with these guys - how could I say no?

"Thanks to the club and can't wait to see the fans again!!!!"

Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho also commented on the move stating, "He’s coming because he’s one of the best strikers in Europe,"

"I know his personality very well and I know if he comes back he’s not protected by history or what he’s done for this club previously. He is coming with the mentality to make more history."

In his first stint at Chelsea Drogba scored 157 goals in 341 appearances, assisting Chelsea to numerous trophies. Prior to his return the Chelsea, Drogba played for Turkish giants Galatasaray. He managed 15 goals in 37 appearances.
