It won’t be long before “Girl Meets World” meets the Disney Channel. On April 1, the official cast photo for the highly anticipated “Boy Meets World” spinoff was posted on People.com, and as expected, there are a few familiar faces.
In addition to Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel, who’ll reprise their “Boy Meets World” roles as Cory and Topanga Matthews, the reboot will feature Rowan Blanchard as Riley Matthews, August Maturo as Auggie Matthews, Sabrina Carpenter as Maya Hart, Corey Fogelmanis as Shamus Farkle and Peyton Meyer as Lucas Friar.
The hit sitcom went off the air in 2000 after seven seasons on ABC’s popular TGIF lineup. The new show will pick up more than a decade later in New York City and will be centered around married couple Cory and Topanga’s tween daughter, Rowan.
Last summer after the reboot of the 1990s series was announced, Fishel told Access Hollywood her favorite part of the new show was “just being back with a lot of our same crew, and some new cast but also some old cast. It’s just the most awesome experience you could ask for!”
The actress also promised, “There is a very, very, very, special guest star in the pilot. So when the pilot episode airs, you will have something to look forward to for sure. Trust me – people will know. The big fans will know what I’m talking about.”
“Girl Meets World” will premiere this summer on Disney Channel.
