Official British Plus-sized Fashion Weekend making fashion history

Big girls are doing it for themselves.

The first Official British Plus-Size Fashion Weekend is set to take place at Shoreditch Town Hall February 15 and 16, the same time as London Fashion Week 2013.

The event will feature clothes and swimwear for women sized 12 and up by 14 designers including Simply Be, Syneeta Badu, Carolyn de la Drapiere and up-and-coming London-based label One One Three.

Rianne Ward, CEO of Evolve, an online magazine dedicated to curvy women, is the event organizer with fashion blogger and plus-size designer Remi Ray.

“It will hopefully give curvy women something to get involved in during London Fashion Week and help them feel more comfortable in their own skin," she told the London Evening Standard.

Do you think this plus sized event will be able to gain attention compared to the traditional London Fashion Week?
