Police said Officer Cliff Elliston and Officer Andrew Fleming observed the men running down the middle of Chestnut Street near Pearl Street. One of the men was carrying a 30-pack of beer, which he dropped on the ground when officers commanded the men to stop.

The men ignored the officers’ warnings and continued to walk away from them. Officer Elliston gave chase and apprehended the man who dropped the beer. He was taken into custody after a brief struggle. He was identified as Eric Heir.

While Heir was being subdued by the officers, the second man continued to run away. Officer Elliston then chased after him and eventually was able to catch him and take him into custody after a minor struggle. He was identified as Craig Hamilton.
