An officer saves a dog after a car accident in Pennsylvania. On Aug. 15, MSN News reported that officer Nick Ague is being called a hero after he rescued a 75-pound German Shepherd that ran 2 miles away from a car accident. Ague was determined to bring the dog to safety, thinking of his own pup as motivation.
"The dog was not moving because the skin on the pads of her feet was hanging, presumably because of the distance she ran. She ran 2 miles from the crash on hot asphalt. The only thing I could think to do was pick her up," said Ague.
When an officer saves a dog, it's usually a feel good story and this is no different. Ague could have just let the dog, Mya, run away and leave her be but instead he stayed focused on bringing her to safety. There are plenty of people who wouldn't have thought twice about the dog but Ague couldn't do that. He said that he hoped that someone would do the same for him and his dog -- also a German Shepherd.
The photo above shows Ague carrying Mya after the accident. It was posted on the police station's Facebook page shortly after it was taken.
