Turnstone, a Steelcase company has recently announced that they are having a 10-day, nine-state road trip that has been designed to recognize the important contributions made by start-ups in the U.S. Heartland. This competition will illustrate the connection between great office design and company growth. Companies based in Chicago, IL, Des Moines, IA, Omaha, NE, Kansas City, MO, and Dallas, TX can submit their entry forms for a chance to win a $20,000 office makeover.
The growth of start-up communities in the Heartland has gained tremendous steam, and the amount of investment dollars being poured into the region is proof: According to a report commissioned by the Angel Resource Institute, Silicon Valley Bank and CB Insights, 5.7 percent of the country’s angel investment deals are done in the Great Plains, one of just two regions that increased share from the first half of 2011 to the first half of 2012.
So what does that mean for folks in here Dallas? It's simple. The “Culture@Work in the Heartland” contest gives five small and emerging businesses and companies with less than 100 employees a $20,000 office makeover. Companies have until February 10, 2013 to submit their online applications at http://contest.myturnstone.com/. Just submit your photos and answer the short questions about culture at your business and explain how an office makeover would improve culture and take your venture to the next level. Turnstone will announce winners in person and they will be in Dallas-Fort Worth, TX on March 4th.
