Colombian star James Rodriguez has transferred from AS Monaco to Spanish Giants Real Madrid. Real Madrid have paid 63 million for the World Cup Golden Boot winner.

After his medical, Rodriguez signed a six year deal with the Spanish Giants, making him the fourth most expensive signing of all time.

In an interview with Real Madrid TV, Rodriguez stated

“I always wanted this and I hope to be happy here for many years,”

“I like challenges and to win, and I'm at a great club to achieve many titles."

“I'm anxious. I want August 1 to come to start training and be better every day."

He also stated that he intended on bringing, "“Goals, passes and play. I am only one [person] but I want to help."

Real Madrid Coach Carlos Ancelotti also commented on the transfer stating, "Madrid's history will tell you that they always want to have the best players and ones with a future,"

"We have signed one of the World Cup's stars."

"You need these kinds of players for the future, not just for the present, too."

James Rodriguez is not the only player joining Real Madrid this summer as they have also completed the transfer of Toni Kroos from German Giants Bayern Munich.

It was thought that these signings would conclude Real Madrid's involvement in the transfer market however, club President Florentino Perez stated that Real Madrid will continue to be involved in the market.

He stated to reporters at a Spanish football association assembly, "Until the last day you can always do something, whether it's buying and selling,"

"We all want to strengthen and improve. Then the competition will unfold. You can add people until the end of August and some can go out as well. It’s no different to any summer. I can’t say anything else, honestly."
