Insomniac Games and SCEA are hosting a community event, co-sponsored with G4, to unveil the winner of the “Captain Qwark’s My Blaster Runs Hot” weapons contest and present them with a real-life replica of the weapon they created. Kevin J. Anderson is an acclaimed science fiction author who has penned such works as the new Dune novels, co-authored with Brian Herbert, and his own new "Terra Incognita" fantasy series, accompanied by an original rock CD by the supergroup Roswell Six. Beginning at 9PM, Rifftrax (the Mystery Science Theater 3000 guys) will peform live commentary of the Fanastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

The Twilight Experience
Summit Entertainment invites you to a fun-filled evening screening of the original TWILIGHT featuring Surprise Cast Appearances. Screening tickets are $10 and can only be purchased online at Fandango (http://www.fandango.com) and picked up at the theater prior to the event. Multiple staggered showings of TWILIGHT will take place at the Pacific Gaslamp 15. Doors open at 5:30 and fans with tickets will be admitted on a first-come, first-seated basis. The Pacific Gaslamp 15 is located at 701 5th Ave., just a few blocks from the Convention Center. Two tickets per person limit.

Wil Wheaton will appear at Stone World Bistro and Brewing Gardens in Escondido, CA (about an hour's drive from downtown San Diego). Hear Wil read from his books and share a beer, from 6PM-8PM, then at 9PM he'll introduce the Rifftrax live commentary of The Matrix: Reloaded. RiffTrax (the Mystery Science Theater 3000 guys) will peform a live commentary while screening The Matrix: Reloaded.

Twilight & New Moon live podcast begins at 7:30 PM PST and will take place at Border's Books in the Gaslamp area located at 6th and G St., near the convention center. Organizers hint that "special guests" will be in attendance to sign one Twilight-related item purchased at the store. You do not need to be registered for Comic Con to attend, however wristbands will be required and will be distributed starting at 10AM on the day of the event.
