Critter Adoption and Rescue Effort (C.A.R.E.), Hillsborough County’s no-kill animal shelter in Ruskin, Fla., announces its eighth annual Ruskin PetFest for Saturday, April 6, 2013. The free event will take place at Ott’s Off-Leash Dog Sanctuary, located at 21st Street S.E. and Third Avenue S.E. off State Route 674 in Ruskin.
Ruskin PetFest is Tampa Bay’s only off-leash event and allows everyone to have fun and a good time. Dogs can meet their fellow friends and can compete in pet fashion contests and, together with their humans, in dog-owner look-a-like contests. Visitors can browse exhibitions of vendors offering pet related products and services, participate in C.A.R.E.’s auction and listen to music and have a bite to eat while watching the dogs running around and playing with each other.
All proceeds from Ruskin PetFest, which starts at 9 a.m. and runs until 1 p.m., will benefit C.A.R.E.
