The long awaited taproom from South Park's Odin Brewing Co. opened earlier this summer to the delight of neighborhood residents and beer fans alike. Asgard Tavern, located at 1300 N Northlake Way in the murky territory that is either Fremont or Wallingford, depending on who you ask, is tucked just off the Burke Gilman trail. According to the Tavern's Facebook page, Asgard was created to "showcase our beer, special casks and seasonal products,"and has been doing so since opening its doors just before the Fremont Solstice Fair in late June. Done up in the style of many a Seattle microbrewery/taproom (think: Reuben's Brews and Peddler Brewing Co. in Ballard) with a somewhat industrial motif complimented by a few crafty elements such as lamps made of plumbing fittings and beer bottles and carved wooden dragon tap handles. Apart from a rotating tap list and the occasional featured food items, the taproom also sells all the necessary dragon gear to really accent your wardrobe or home bar. Located conveniently for a nice lakeside stroll or bike ride and with ample parking in the neighborhood, there are no excuses not to stop by for a quick pint or a night out with some friends to support a local brewery doing good work for the thirsty public.
