The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory until 7PM.
Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible...reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or late evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear light colored...light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible.
To reduce risk during outdoor work the occupational safety and health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location...and seek emergency assistance. Heat stroke is an emergency - call 911 immediately.
Tuesday will be another hot and muggy day across the region. High temperatures will top out in the upper 90's with a heat index ranging from 105 to 110 degrees! The good news is today will be the last day of the hot and muggy weather. A cold front will move through overnight and will bring a chance of showers and thunderstorms to the area. The cold front will lower temperatures into the mid to upper 80's for high temperatures for the next several days.
