Octomom plead not guilty to welfare fraud charges. Nadya Suleman, 38, was in California Superior Court in Los Angeles for her latest appearance. According to WebProNews on Mar. 12, this is not her first time in front of a judge.

This fourth count of fraud brings the total amount of restitution sought by the state of California to $26,000.

Octomom was released on her own recognizance after a brief, five-minute appearance. She was released on her own recognizance, but is expected to return to court on April 16th, unless a plea deal is reached.

Octomom came to the forefront in 2009 when she decided to have eight children without a husband. Suleman already had six children at this time. The children were conceived by using in vitro fertilization. This was only the second time a full set of octuplets was born alive in the United States. These births brought the total to fourteen kids and public sentiment has turned strongly against her.

Suleman made several public appearances and videos for pay, which she failed to report while receiving welfare from the State of California. Our hearts go out to the children.
