Octomom is back on welfare after being off of it for only five months. TMZ reported Jan. 6 that Nadya Suleman is back on government assistance as of last week. Evidently, her October bills for rehab consumed most all of her savings.
It has been reported by TMZ that the mother of 14 will be getting $1,800 a month for food along with $1,000 for emergency cash. Suleman will also receive Medi-Cal benefits to assist her with dental and health care needs. Octo says that she plans to only use the government assistance to help her get back on her feet, so she can be self-supportive.
Octomon had filmed a solo masturbation porn video that was released last year to make some money. The 37-year-old also was able to have a partly steady paycheck by doing striptease. Additionally, Suleman received a career upturn because her porn movie, "Octomom: Home Alone" was a huge success.
Suleman told the Huffington Post in June, "I'd be lying if I didn't say generating revenue wasn't a major reason why I did it, but I found the experience was empowering and liberating."
Suleman admitted herself into rehab for "anxiety, exhaustion and stress" at the Chapman Treatment Center. Her manager, Gina Rodriguez told the Daily News at the time that, "She was prescribed Xanax for her anxiety attacks. She was not addicted to it. She has an overabundance of stress and exhaustion and wanted to deal with it without prescription drugs."
