Octomom fraud: Nadya Suleman could serve jail time for welfare fraud

Octomom Nadya Suleman is being investigated for welfare fraud, and could spend time in jail if it’s revealed she’s guilty of scamming the system, The Huffington Post reported on Mar. 20.

According to the post, an unnamed person reportedly to the LA County Department of Welfare Fraud Prevention and Investigation, claiming that Suleman collected welfare benefits even though she made about $200,000 last year.

If Octomom did commit fraud she could be headed to jail, leaving her 14 children without their mother. According to California law, Nadya Suleman is eligible for welfare benefits if she made less than $119,000 last year.

However, it’s possible that she made far more than that with her publicity jobs, porn career, and stripper duties.

"I can confirm that the authorities have been in contact with us concerning her income and we have been cooperating," a source close to Suleman revealed on Wednesday.
