“Octomom” is charged with welfare fraud today after failing to report about $30,000 in earnings, some of which comes from residuals from a video she did. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office released the news that she’s been charged with this crime on Monday, Jan. 13.

According to CBS News today, Nadya Suleman, known to the world as “Octomom,” is in hot water, but what could she expect. She was so public with applying for welfare and then she turns around and goes public with making a porn movie and stripping to take in money to feed her 14 kids. Someone out there was bound to do the math.

Octomom failed to report that she was getting checks for personal appearances and residual payments from a video while receiving welfare payments. The D.A.’s office said these earnings weren’t reported between the dates of Jan 1, 2013 and June 30, 2013.

In January of 2013 Octomom applied for public assistance in Lancaster. The mother of 14 has had money problems for quite some time and she was offered to do a masturbation video along with stripping in various nightclubs.

She appeared on Howard Stern and “demonstrated” a new vibrator, she posed for topless pictures and then she topped it off with a self-pleasuring video. Octomom seemed happy for all the intention she received from her new-found adult entertainment fame.

These gigs that Octomom took on were made very public, as was the fact that she was on welfare. People were up in arms that a single mother would have 14 kids and then go on public assistance to support them.

The prosecutor is expected to ask the judge for a $25,000 bond when Octomom is arraigned in court Friday. A conviction of these charges could put Octomom behind bars for two years.
